The Super-Wet Liposuction Technique
August 19, 2010The Super-Wet San Diego liposuction technique is similar to the tumescent technique, except that less fluid is utilized. Typically the amount of fluid that is injected is equal to the amount of fat that will be removed. This technique will often require IV sedation or general anesthesia and will usually take between one and two hours for a San Diego plastic surgeon to perform.
The Tumescent Liposuction Technique
In the Tumescent technique of San Diego liposuction, as much as three times the amount of fat that is going to be removed will be injected into the targeted areas. This technique is usually performed on those who need only a local anesthetic and it can take significantly longer than traditional liposuction even up to five hours. Since the injected fluid contains sufficient anesthetic, however, additional anesthesia may not be required. The name for this technique, performed by a California cosmetic surgeon refers to the firm, swollen state of the fatty tissues when filled with the solution.
The Fluid Injection Liposuction Technique
In the Fluid Injection technique, a medicated solution is injected into fatty areas before the fat is removed via California liposuction. This is a commonly utilized technique of today. The fluid is a combination of epinephrine (a drug that contracts blood vessels), saline solution, and lidocaine (a local anesthetic) that, provides anesthesia during and after surgery, reduces blood loss, reduces the amount of bruising after surgery, and simply helps remove the fat more easily. The amount of fluid that is injected depends on the preference of the San Diego plastic surgeon.
