Liposuction Has Been Improved Into A “Wet” Procedure
August 21, 2010Liposuction is the removal of fat and has evolved as a procedure since the 1980s. Originally described as a “dry” procedure it has improved to “wet” or “tumescent” type of liposuction Charlotte. The tumescent refers to placement of saline solution with or without a numbing medication (lidocaine) through a small incision for which the removal of fat will occur (liposuction). This tumescent solution has allowed for easier fat removal, decrease discomfort, and quicker recovery. Once the tumescent portion is done, the actual liposuction can be performed with the traditional method or an advanced method by a North Carolina plastic surgeon.
